On May 25th, the General Data Protection Regulation law is in effect. This means that everybody that in some way collects and stores data about people, need to apply to a certain set of new rules:
“Personal data is any information relating to an individual, whether it relates to his or her private, professional or public life. It can be anything from a name, a home address, a photo, an email address, bank details, posts on social networking websites, medical information, or a computer’s IP address.”
It’s a quite complicated issue, but amongst the most important features is that any individual has the right to now what personal data we have stored and any individual has the right to have his or her data complete removed from our database.
We have been working on meeting all the necessary requirements for a while and we will be ready when the date is due.
